Maybe Vexed, it certainly taught me to be more aware when pissed of my surroundings. It was actually done by sleight of hand and before I knew what was going on, he was running off and climbed over a wall like monkey and ran away onto the railway sidings.

Sounds like the mugger did you a turn there.

Also, why would anyone want to wear some other geysers second hand watch?

Re: Watches
I got mugged a few years back whilst very pissed in London Bridge/Borough Market of a M Kors watch - I liked the watch and it was insured so I simply got a like for like replacement. The guy in the shop said it had a 'jubilee strap' and looked very much like a Rolex and that was quite possibly why I was targeted. The Kors one was worth around £300 so every chance the mugger would have been disappointed with their haul. That incident put me off ever getting a really expensive watch as it surely makes you a target. Just stick to a decent one for around 300/400. I like the look of a Rolex but would be too worried to wear one out!

Interesting to learn that only blokes with small cocks buy expensive watches, interesting insight that.

Out of interest, what fanciful things, if anything, do blokes with big cocks buy?

Err nothing.... we just walk around naked showing IT off... if we need to tell the time we look at the Sundial in teh Town Square...

Re: Watches
Got two on successive birthdays/Christmases (can't really remember ) from well meaning relatives when I was a kid. Being a very active outdoor kid broke both within weeks.

Never been bothered since.

Re: Watches
Had my GMT2 for almost ten years now, it’s held it’s value really well.
Missus has got a datejust I think, stopped working the other day and has been sent offf to be fixed. Anyway, point is it has white face with silver bezel and Roman numerals face...... which are apparently quite rare. So it’s actually worth more now than when she got it.

Re: Watches
If you're gonna be near Bond St tube go to Grays Antique Market - there's a fair few antique stalls that have watches and some 2nd hand watch shops - I bought my G&S Tank Francaise from there for about 40% of new cost, was a year old and fully warranted.....that was in 2000 though- given that people ain't spending at the moment you may get a better deal there and clearly Cash is king!!!

Re: Watches
I have a fair few watches. Nothing mega fancy. I'd rather have 15 × £300 quid watches than a 5k watch. Whatever floats your boat.

Surprised to see that my everyday wear digital Seiko that I paid about £120 quid for in Tokyo has occasionally gone for around £500 on eBay.

Now we all have smart phones I don’t really see the point of them. It’s just jewellery really, seems a bit gay to me.

Re: Watches
Unless the watch is a seriously limited edition they are a fucking ridiculous way to try to store value, a terrible investment. But a nice watch or three is a beautiful thing.

Re: Watches
When I was a rabid capitalist I bought loads of expensive stuff , Rolex x4 couple , of TAGs for working in and a Patek Philippe for Sunday best.

Gave them all to charity when I became a Corbyn lover and a right on leftie.

I now wear a £100 Casio Edifice and think that’s a bit to expensive for satuardays march.
